Raised on a farm in Jago, Mississippi, Gwen Baptist was shaped by faith, hard work, and fairness.

She became one of the first African American Certified Public Accountants in Mississippi, served the United States Treasury Department, and later earned her law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law before founding the Baptist Law Firm in Southaven.

For decades, she has served families and her community with integrity — including an appointment by the Mississippi Supreme Court to the Board of Bar Admissions.

For Gwen, serving as Chancery Court Judge is simply the next chapter in a lifetime of service.
